Title: When I Returned from the Hospital with Our Newborn, My Husband Had Changed the Locks – Twenty Hours Later, He Showed Up, Pounding and Screaming

Introduction
Bringing a baby home should be one of the most joyous moments of a couple’s life. After nine months of anticipation, sleepless nights, and endless appointments, you imagine walking through the front door with your tiny miracle, feeling nothing but love, hope, and relief. But for me, that joy was replaced with fear, confusion, and heartbreak. I never thought a simple act—coming home from the hospital—could turn into a nightmare.

How could he possibly justify locking me out, just hours after we welcomed our child into the world? My heart was pounding—not with the elation I had imagined, but with terror and disbelief.

Calling for Help
Eventually, I contacted a neighbor, someone I trusted completely, and explained the situation. They helped me call a locksmith to regain entry. Every minute felt like an eternity. When the locksmith finally arrived and opened the door, I stepped inside with trembling hands and a racing heart. The house was eerily quiet, as if it had been waiting for the storm to arrive. My daughter was in her bassinet, asleep and blissfully unaware of the chaos surrounding her. I sat down beside her and tried to calm my shaking hands, trying to make sense of what had just happened.

The First Night
